Description
The Brew, "one of the most thrilling live acts of our time" (Rocks magazine), releasing their new album. "The Third Floor" is the title of the album which was produced by the British trio in cooperation with producer Chris West (The Verve, Status Quo). The songs resemble a "mixture of old school and modern rock", says Kurtis Smith, drummer of the band which is completed by his father (bass) and the young frontman Jason Barwick on vocals and guitar.

I stumbled upon this group by sampling different songs on Youtube. I grew up on Led Zeppelin and the like. Their songs are all their own but, if you like the heavy base sound and lots of solo guitar you will not be disappointed in this CD. The first song, Sirens of War, kicks in right away, followed closely by another hard drive song, Six Dead. Seldom does a group come along any more that gets your blood pumping. If this album does not do that for you then you have no heart beat. The only questionable tune is "Crimson Crystal Raindrops". It is fine but, sounds too much like the 60's psychedelic era. If you like that kind of trippy music you will be fine. They do pull it off better than most during that era. The rest of the album will having you hit repeat.
